Ubud's Magical Hinterland
Rain Forest Jungles, Hills, Rivers and Ravines - Bali Gita's Scenic Wonderland
The Ubud area can be seen as catering to two distinct groups of visitors and expatriate residents. More visible and better known are those attracted primarily by the one of a kind village itself. They want close proximity to the great selection of restaurants, shopping, art galleries, cultural events and shows. There is however another quite large but less visible group that favor the hinterland's scenic rivers and valleys, life in a traditional Balinese rural community, serenity, larger living space, absence of traffic congestion and greater privacy.
• Bali Gita's focus on families seeking an idyllic but self contained holiday is served well by being located on the Ayung river hills, jungles and spectacular ravines to Ubud's north west. A location which still lies within a comfortable 25 minute drive of the town centre's restaurants and shopping but enables the villa to provide an environment that keeps big family gatherings enjoyably intact.
• Children and young teenagers are paricularly well catered to at Bali Gita by the range of amenities available for their exclusive usage. Even better, for many a city dwelling youngster, is the opportunity to roam at will through the river valley, farm and jungle countryside; all the while absorbing the unspoiled culture of a friendly and protective rural community. Their enjoyment and security is further assured by an accompanying English speaking staff member.
• White water rafting is virtually at the doorstep, with the main operators all within 5 minutes of the villa and other popular activities also nearby. A Paintball adventure ground is a short walk away and also has ATV Quad biking tours. The elephant park is a 15 minute drive and a number of operators provide bike touring and trekking tours around the villages, ricefields and valleys.
• A visit or two to the coast for shopping, Waterbom or the like is usually on the agenda for families on holiday in the Ubud area. Bali Gita's location makes such outings convenient and pleasant as it saves 20 minutes on the Ubud town drive to Seminyak and the route is predominantly through pictureque ricefield country.
• Many families staying at Bali Gita are themselves from coastal cities with ready access to good beaches. Ubud's hinterland for them is a conscious choice to get out into a scenic, luminescent and fascinating countryside that is, as well, culturally vibrant. They see this as not only a great escape for their own relaxation, but a valuable experience for the children.
• The centrality of the villa's location on the island also enables more ready visits to attractive and interesting areas. Places such as the crater lakes, Singaraja, and north coast that would often be regarded as too far away (eg from a coastal resort) to take the family for a day tour. Obviously the villa's included private bus is of great value in this regard.
• Likewise Bali Gita's central and shorter driving transits is a boon to golfers wanting to experience the very swish coastal courses as well as the coolness of a round at the renowned Handara course, situated in rain forest near the mountain lake at Bedugal.
